Position Summary - Family Literacy Instructor
The instructor is responsible for leading assigned Literacy Pittsburgh classes utilizing the Ready and Relevant curriculum and supporting agency priorities. The instructor ensures a high-quality experience for students by providing excellent student instruction and support to advance student learning and goal attainment.
The Family Literacy Program serves immigrant families primarily in Pittsburgh’s South Hills communities. The instructor is responsible for teaching adult English language learning (ELL) classes at community partner sites, providing parent education, and supporting interactive learning activities (ILA) for families in collaboration with early childhood educators.
Preferred candidates will have experience teaching English language learners. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to effectively support diverse classrooms and manage multiple responsibilities.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director of Child and Family Programs
FLSA Status: Full-time; Exempt
Starting Salary Range: $41,000.00 To $43,768.00 Annually
