Jefferson – Mon Valley

Literacy Pittsburgh’s Jefferson–Mon Valley office provides free literacy programs for adults in the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Baldwin, Whitehall and Braddock as well as White Oak, McKeesport, Turtle Creek and Duquesne. We can help you get a GED diploma so you can get a better job. We can help you with math and reading so you can pass the entrance test for job training or college. We can also help you learn English or get ready for the U.S. citizenship exam. If you would like to become a student, visit the Start Now section of our website to learn more.

If you are looking for volunteer opportunities in the South Hills/Mon Valley of Pittsburgh, please consider becoming a literacy tutor. Visit the Volunteers section of our website to learn how you can give back to your community by helping a student in your neighborhood get a better job and support their children in school.

We are proud to work with many partner organizations in Pittsburgh, including Jefferson Regional Foundation, CCAC – South Campus, South Hills Interfaith Movement, Economic Development South, Mon Valley Provider's Council's Working Group, and the Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh. The Jefferson–Mon Valley office offers a GED preparation class in partnership with CCAC.
